This past week, four celebrities passed away.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Ozzy Osbourne. Hulk Hogan. Chuck Mangione.
lI don’t know why, but we’re fascinated by fame.
We place talented people, especially those in sports and entertainment, on pedestals.
Maybe it’s admiration. Perhaps it’s an escape.
But we turn individuals into icons.
And then we forget they’re just that, individuals.
Sons. Fathers. Husbands.
People are grieving real loss today.
And my prayers are with them.
Celebrity or not, one thing is true for all of us:
This life is not the end.
It’s only the setup.
There was a time when people sang about heaven.
Because life was hard, and hope was scarce.
But now?
We’ve built our own version of heaven.
Comfort. Convenience. Distraction.
Even modest homes today would feel like mansions to generations past.
So it’s easy to forget what’s next.
But Scripture doesn’t.
“We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:18“It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.”
— Hebrews 9:27
This life is not the destination.
It’s the hallway.
And eternity isn’t a theory.
It’s your next breath after your last one.
So let me ask:
Have you considered what comes after?
Have you shaped your life around it?
Because no matter how bright the spotlight,
Every stage goes dark.
But the soul keeps going.
So this morning, this is just a little reminder:
Let’s live like that’s true.
If this encouraged you, would you share it with one friend who might need it too?

I talk about this yesterday in the Nursing home service after losing two of our faithful residents last week at Lexington Manor they wasn’t celebrities in fact the last few years they probably went nearly unnoticed one thing I will always remember was the faithfulness to be at church each Sunday when I’m sure they didn’t feel like it because they understood what was important when they draw their last breath very sobering thoughts thank you
