Christmas Morning
The lights were soft when morning came,
the tree still flickered like a flame,
the house felt tender all the same,
just waking.
The memories echoed in the air,
the footsteps rush to
meet the stairs,
the joy that used to gather there,
still warm.
Our family changes year by year,
some voices fade, some reappear,
yet love remains both strong and clear,
still holding.
New faces gather round the tree,
old stories shared like memory,
the ties that make a family,
still precious.
The meaning deepens as I see
the years that built our legacy,
the grace that carried you and me,
still present.
And at the center of it all,
a humble birth, a manger stall,
a gift that came to lift our fall,
Christ given.
The love that reached us where we are,
brighter than the brightest star,
the hope that heals the deepest scar,
still saving.
Merry Christmas from our house to yours!
