What are we so worried about?

I’ve caught myself doing it.

Refreshing headlines.
Watching election maps.
Talking like the fate of the world hangs on a single office.

We say God is sovereign.

Then we act like the Oval Office is.

I have spoken the words.
“God is in control.”

Five minutes later, I’m anxious about the political upheaval that’s happening that day.

As if the Creator of galaxies is pacing heaven, waiting on Congress to pass a bill.

Somewhere along the way, we started treating political power like ultimate power.

Like whoever controls the White House controls history.
Like a majority leader can override eternity.

Government matters.
Leadership matters.
Policy affects real lives.

But God does not need a President.
He does not require a majority.
He is King.

Nations rise.
Nations fall.
Empires come and go.

The throne in heaven has never been up for election.

If I really believe that, my blood pressure should reflect it.
My tone should reflect it.
My hope should reflect it.

So today, just a simple reminder.
