He Knows the Way I Take
A few years ago, I wrote a little song.
It wasn’t written to impress.
It was written to survive a season.
At the time, I had been laid off from an executive position because of a corporate merger.
I genuinely had no idea what was coming next.
The lines of that song said exactly how I felt:
“I don’t know about tomorrow
Or what is waiting just around the bend.
But I won’t worry about tomorrow
The one who made tomorrow
is holding my hand.”
Plans were gone.
Certainty was gone.
But God wasn’t.
There are moments when I want clarity.
A path I can study.
A future that explains itself before I step into it.
Scripture rarely gives that.
What it gives is something steadier.
“He knows the way I take.”
Job 23:10
Not the path I imagined.
The one my feet were already walking.
That doesn’t mean the road is easy.
It means it isn’t unknown.
Nothing about this season surprised Him.
Nothing about this road is unfamiliar.
And faith, I’ve learned, is less about seeing ahead
and more about trusting the One who already sees it all.
If He knows the way I take,
I can keep walking.
Even when the road bends.
Even when the next step isn’t clear.
If this met you where you are, share it with someone walking through an uncertain season today.
