Picture Perfect
I used to think God wanted me to get everything right.
No mistakes. No flaws.
Just a clean, unblemished version of me.
But every time I failed,
He met me with grace instead of disappointment.
Every time I stumbled,
He taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way.
God could have made us perfect.
But He didn’t.
He elected to give us the choice.
Because love without choice isn’t love at all.
If He had made us flawless,
we would have obeyed like machines,
not loved like children.
We would have performed well,
but never truly known Him.
So He gave us freedom.
And with it, the possibility of failure.
But also the wonder of forgiveness.
The chance to come home when we have wandered too far.
The story of redemption is written into every heart that chooses Him back.
If perfection were possible,
we would never know mercy.
We would never need forgiveness.
We would never feel the tenderness of a Savior
who kneels beside us in the dirt.
The truth is, He still sees something beautiful in the blur.
Something worth restoring in every broken frame.
We were not created to be picture perfect.
We were created to be perfectly loved.
