Jesus was asked many questions.
Some were traps.
Some were cries for help.
Some came from people who no longer knew what to believe.
And He never pushed them away.
When Thomas said,
“Unless I see the marks, I won’t believe.”
Jesus didn’t shame him.
He came close.
Held out His hands.
Invited him to see for himself.
When a religious ‘expert’ asked,
“What must I do to inherit eternal life?”
Jesus didn’t dismiss him.
He asked in return,
“What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”
Because Jesus doesn’t fear your questions.
He meets you in them.
And maybe your question doesn’t come with buttoned-up language.
Perhaps you are going through a challenging time in your faith.
Maybe your questions sound more like:
“Why did this happen to my family?”
“Why didn’t God stop it?”
“Where were You when I went through this situation?”
Maybe you’ve carried that question for a long time.
Perhaps you’ve even blamed Him for what you have been through.
And still, He doesn’t pull away.
He doesn’t scold the brokenhearted.
He draws near to them.
Even if people criticize your questions, He never will.
He’s not afraid of your doubts.
He’s already standing in the middle of them.
Closer than you think.
And no, asking an honest question isn’t a sign of disbelief.
It isn’t pride in disguise.
Jesus knows your questions, even before you ask.
And He knows your heart, too.
So ask. Seek. Knock.
The door still opens.
And God is still on the other side.
Not with a lecture, with open arms.
He doesn’t mind your sincere questions.
He welcomes them.
And once you ask, just be still and listen.
He also answers them.
