The Gospel According To...
Everyone has one.
Not the four in the Bible.
The one we live by.
The Gospel according to success says achievement will satisfy.
The Gospel according to politics says the right leader will fix everything.
The Gospel according to culture says fulfillment is found by looking inward.
The Gospel according to money says security is the highest good.
None of these are usually announced out loud.
But they show up in the way we make decisions.
In what we fear losing.
In what we chase the hardest.
If I am honest, I have written my own version more times than I care to admit.
The Gospel according to comfort.
The Gospel according to approval.
The Gospel according to control.
Each one promises life.
None of them can deliver it.
The real Gospel is different.
It does not start with my plans, my instincts, or my ambitions.
And it tells a very different story about where life is actually found.
Which leaves a simple question for all of us.
When my life speaks, which gospel is it preaching?
