The Hand
Think about human hands.
So ordinary.
Yet astonishingly powerful.
They built civilizations.
Raised cathedrals.
Wrote Scripture.
Composed symphonies.
And with all our technology,
we still cannot design anything greater.
Robotics can imitate movement,
but not the miracle of touch.
Strength and gentleness.
Reach and restraint.
Capability held in balance.
Still something we cannot reproduce.
Hands can bless.
Hands can comfort.
Hands can heal.
But hands can also wound.
Every trigger pulled.
Every bomb dropped.
Every fist clenched in anger.
The same hands that cradle a child
can strike a neighbor.
The same hands that shape beauty
can unleash ruin.
Our hands are never neutral.
They reveal what we value.
They carry intention into action.
They make the unseen visible.
“Today I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life.”
Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV)
Every day, we decide
whether our hands will create or destroy,
protect or provoke,
heal or harm.
What we build,
and what we leave broken behind us,
comes down to the choices we make
with the power already in our hands.
