The Power of Silence
We live in a world where speaking publicly is easy.
A thought forms and finds an audience in seconds.
No pause.
No cost.
Some things that once stayed private now get posted for effect.
Words that should have been worked through get released publicly in an instant.
For some, every marital disagreement turns into a vaguely veiled post.
Carefully worded.
Emotionally loaded.
And quickly recognized by everyone who knows them.
It is rarely about seeking answers.
More often, it is about seeking agreement.
Or sympathy.
Or someone willing to take our side.
Public words can become substitutes for private work.
Posts replace conversations.
Reaction replaces reflection.
For me, answers usually arrive in silence.
In the stillness of morning prayer.
In the space where emotions settle instead of rushing.
In moments where listening matters more than being heard.
That does not mean carrying everything alone.
We all need a trusted friend.
Someone safe.
Someone who listens without broadcasting.
Someone who offers counsel without turning pain into content.
Silence is not isolation.
It is choosing the right place for the right words.
Silence lowers the temperature.
It keeps fragile things from becoming public property.
It protects what still needs care.
Not every frustration needs an audience.
Not every hurt needs a platform.
Some conversations are meant to stay small.
Handled slowly.
With humility.
I am learning that restraint is not weakness.
It is strength under control.
Silence is not avoidance.
It is alignment.
And often, it says more
and does more
than anything I could post.
If this resonates, share it with someone who values wisdom over noise.
