When Thanks Feels Hard
It’s easy to give thanks when everything is going our way.
When the road ahead is rough and uncertain,
gratitude doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily.
But maybe that’s when it means the most.
A heart of gratitude doesn’t mean that life is perfect.
It’s proof that trust is more powerful than my circumstances.
It’s the barely uttered prayer that says,
“I still believe God is good, even though I can’t see the good in my situation.”
Because genuine thankfulness doesn’t depend on what I see.
It depends on the One in whom I trust.
I need to be reminded that some of the most trying circumstances
can become my greatest blessings.
That’s why Scripture teaches us,
“In everything give thanks.”
Even when the answers haven’t come,
when the outcome isn’t clear,
when the heart is tired and hope feels small.
I will still say thank you.
Not because everything feels perfect.
But because I know God is.
Maybe gratitude in the struggle
is worship in its purest form.
When Thanksgiving is more than a holiday,
It’s a way of life.
