It’s hard to avoid politics these days.
No need to chase it, it finds us.
In headlines, algorithms, and conversations.
Even pulpits. It shows up in places we once reserved for eternal things.
And with all the shifting sand,
the stories we’re told feel oddly absolute.
Either a collapse is near
or a great awakening is underway.
Depends on the room.
I’ve noticed something in myself.
A pull to let the state of the nation shape the state of my mind.
To let policies carry the weight of scripture.
To treat politics as if it holds eternity in its hands.
We say Jesus is Lord, but live like our fate hinges on election cycles.
This isn’t a call to disengage.
Civic life matters.
Conviction matters.
Christians should not stay silent.
But when our peace rises and falls with the outcome of an election, we’ve forgotten where power truly rests.
When my heart gets pulled into the chaos,
I try to remember what I belong to.
A Kingdom.
One not built by hands.
Lord help me remember that I am called to be a disciple before a political being.
My allegiance is to a cross, not a party or candidate.
So I pray.
I vote.
But I do not panic.
Because grace has never lost an election.
And my King remains undefeated!
If this helped you breathe a little deeper,
would you share it with one friend who might need it too?

So true i find myself drawn into this and letting it set the tone for my day. I pray that God’s voice will be louder in my life than this political chaos and division. The Lord said trust him and not lean to to our own understanding.
