Your Life Matters
Every Christmas, for pretty much my whole life, I have watched It’s a Wonderful Life.
The story never got old.
George Bailey thought his life was small. Ordinary. Forgettable.
But when he saw the world without him, he realized how deeply one life can touch another.
I’ll never get to see what the world would be like if I had never existed.
But I can look around and see the people God has placed in my path.
I can see the faces, the stories, the moments that might be different if I hadn’t been there.
And when I look back at the people who made an impact on me,
I realize that some of them never knew how much they mattered or how deeply their kindness changed my life.
Most days, I forget that.
Maybe you do too.
It’s convenient to measure our lives by milestones and applause.
But heaven’s yardstick is different.
By love.
By faithfulness.
By the unseen acts that ripple far beyond what we will ever know.
It’s easy to scroll through someone else’s highlights and wonder if we measure up.
But George Bailey didn’t change the world by being someone else.
He changed it by being faithful right where he was.
In the small things, in the seemingly insignificant places.
Your life may not make headlines.
But it makes history in the hearts you touch.
And because your life matters, your faithfulness will reach farther than your eyes will ever see, touching people who will never know where the blessing came from.
God knew your name before the world ever saw your face.
And because of that, your life matters.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.”
